Morzine, a traditional Savoie market town, 60 minutes drive from Geneva,a popular choice for both family ski trips and weekends away. The largest resort on the Portes du Soleil area, Morzine gives good access to the areas' 650km of terrain, and offers excellent local ski slopes for all levels of skier.
Although Morzine is not one of the higher altitude ski resorts in the Portes du Soleil they have snow making facilities so that beginners can learn on the nursery slopes in the village.
Intermediate skiers will have a fantastic time skiing the never ending runs of the Portes du Soleil; it is possible to ski in six different villages in two countries in one day without ever skiing the same run twice.
Expert skiers will find over 20 black runs in this area including ‘The Wall’ a 300m sheer drop of enormous moguls leading from Avoriaz into Switzerland.
The opportunities for off piste skiing in the Portes du Soleil are endless. Cross country skiers will enjoy approx 48kms of cross country skiing trails in Morzine
