The house, part of which dates back to 1765, is set in a peaceful location on the edge of the village. The village itself offers boule & football pitches and a trout farm, with large fishing lakes behind it is in the adjoining village of Monchel.The next village along the Canche, Boubers Sur Canche, offers a mini-market, café bar, restaurant, post office, flower and gift shop and a wonderful natural garden centre. The nearby towns offer restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets as well as the traditional French open-air markets.
SELF CATERING ACCOMMODATION :There is courtyard parking for two large cars. You enter the house into the Lounge, which has comfy sofas, a feature fireplace with wood burning stove, a DVD/CD player and Ipod connection and a small library of books. There is central heating with radiators in all rooms.
The country style kitchen is well equipped with a gas cooker, fridge, dishwasher, cooking utensils, crockery and glassware. The dining room seats six people, but could be extended to eight if you have occasional guests. There are two bedrooms, one with a king sized bed and a single futon bed. The other has a standard double bed. There is a bathroom with bath, shower above the bath, a basin and a toilet. There is also a second separate toilet.
There is a utility room which has a Tumble Dryer and a Washing Machine. Cleaning of the cottage at the end of your stay is included in the rental price. Heating oil is included in the rental price October to May. Logs and other utilities included in the price all year around.
The Garden is enclosed and has been landscaped to offer an open lawn area with enough space for family games. There is a morning sun terrace ideal for breakfast and lunch, an evening sun terrace and pergola for alfresco teatime and evening meals as well as sun bathing. The beds are made up of flowering shrubs, roses, perennials and herbs. There is a selection of garden furniture available, including sun loungers, garden tables, picnic bench, umbrella and a Barbecue. Bikes and kids scooters available.
The Village the cottage is located in a quiet working agricultural village. The trout farm is three minutes walk from the cottage; you can fish for your own trout or buy it from their shop along with other local delicacies. Hesdin is 15 minutes, St. Pol Sur Ternoise is 15 minutes and Frevent is 10 minutes drive away where there are Supermarkets and other shops to be found.
