Les Ammonites **** - Villers-sur-Mer - Basse-Normandie
Les Ammonites camp site sits right on the coast between the resorts of Deauville and Cabourg. Close by is Villers-sur-Mer, a favourite resort since the 19th century. Thanks to its altitude, this small friendly camp site offers spectacular views of the sea. A day on the beach is just down the road and the site has a (heated) swimming pool, climbing wall, tennis court, basketball and volleyball field and playground equipment for the children. Delicious Norman food is served in the crêperie (with billiards). What better after a long day sightseeing! To the Mémorial in Caen, for example, a museum devoted to the Normandy Landings of 1944 and the Cold War. William the Conqueror’s castle is also in this town. The inland part of Normandy is more peaceful with its quaint villages, farms and vineyards.

St. Michel *** - Courtils - Basse-Normandie
No surprise that this the camp site is named after the world famous Mont St. Michel. This famous abbey built on a rocky island is only 8km away. The attractive level family camp site has a modest shop and well maintained sanitation and delicious meals are available. There is a swimming pool for a refreshing dip and children will have hours of fun in the playground and with the electronic games. Bikes are available for rent and the surrounding flat landscape is perfect for this! Granville with its wide beaches and Cancale with its oyster farms are just a short drive away. And of course the harbour of St Malo, surrounded by a rugged rocky coast with beautiful beaches and the splendid Comburg Castle. Seeing is believing!

Les Vikings *** - Barneville/Carteret - Basse-Normandie
Les Vikings lies just 400m from the sea. What could be better! You can be assured of a great day out on the powdery sand. If you prefer, there is always the swimming pool with its terrace and sun loungers in the camp site itself. The level terrain is well looked after, and excellent meals are served in the restaurant and on the terrace. If children want a change from having fun in the water, there is always the games room, playground and sports field. The Landings beaches with their museums are well worth a visit, and boats leave the old harbour for Jersey in the Channel Islands. A tourist train will take you to Barneville, but the best way to discover the Normandy landscape is by bike on the cobblestones. To the castles of Bricquebec and La Haye-du-Puits, for example.
