Le Manoir de Tachau is a delightful ancient stone house. It has vast grounds with two lakes and extensive woodland.

It is surrounded by varied working farms, poplars, sunflowers, maize and vineyards.

The Manoir is 6km from the medieval bastide town of Duras with its imposing castle and weekly Monday market.

 


  
 

Some Activities
Local sports include tennis, golf, fishing, canoeing, riding, biking, hiking, hot-air ballooning and a flying club. Visit chateaux, abbeys, medieval towns and villages, markets, prehistoric caves, go wine-tasting at local vineyards or maybe just relax with a soothing bottle of the local Duras AOC wines in our peaceful surroundings and enjoy the birdsong. Many local restaurants offer excellent four course weekday lunches for £8.50

Our own fishing club opened 2005, with temporary membership for the complete family at £20 for 3 weeks fishing on our large lake. here are four golf courses within 30 minutes drive and there are two well maintained tennis courts just 1.5 miles away.

Our Gites
Situated in a cross-wing of Le Manoir de Tachau two of the inter-connecting two storey gites face onto the courtyard, formal gardens and the swimming pool. Each is fully equipped for 6 people.

The third gite for 4/5 persons opens onto its own quiet garden with views of vineyards and one of our own farms on the ancient Tachau Estate.

Together, the three large inter-joining gites offer excellent holiday accommodation for a maximum of 17 people.

Each beamed apartment has a spacious shower room and w.c's with washbasin on both floors. There is plenty of comfortable furniture in the sitting area, together with a dining area. Outside, each gite has its own garden table and seating along with a barbeque and sun umbrella.

Equipment
Each well equipped spacious kitchen has an electric cooker, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, together with plenty of attractive crockery and cutlery.

In the stone built tower is a washing machine, iron and ironing board.

Facilities
The secluded modern 12m x 6m swimming pool at Le Manoir de Tachau has roman steps and an extensive sun bathing area with reclining chairs.

The boules court is always popular, as is our croquet lawn. For the energetic there is our volley ball court. Particularly popular with the children is our giant draughts board. Our own fishing club on the large lake is 10 minutes away in a quiet wooded valley on the Tachau Estate. We have also a number of excellent renovated stone built houses for sale on the Estate.
