The
site is set on 3 hectares of level ground on the banks
of the river Cher. There are 137 grassy pitches,
most
of which have some shade, many have a river view and some
have a view of the Chateau. 94 plots have electricity
hook-ups, some French, some European and all 6 amps minimum.
On site activities include the
pool, mini-golf, bike hire, themed evenings and children's
entertainment.
Chenonceau castle is only 15
minutes walk from the site along the left bank of the
river. It is a unique view of the castle, especially dramatic
at night when the music from the soirée
romantique can be heard. There are hundreds of other chateaux
within an hour of the campsite.
The site is situated in the Touraine
region, famous for its wine of the same name. We have
wines available from the local vinyards - Sparkling, rosé,
white, and 3 varieties of red. Wine-tasting evenings are
organised every 10 days throughout the season.
Activities in the area include
hot-air balloon flights, the aquarium and the mini chateau
park as well as hundreds of real chateaux and acres of
vinyards and miles and miles of country walks and cycle
paths.
