Bigno Garrigo, a former wine "chai" stands in grounds of nearly 3 acres, with colourful garden areas,
olive grove and a large area of "garrigue" with wild herbs and a variety of flora and fauna.

Just a few steps from your holiday home, you can enjoy the 50 sq m heated pool with jacuzzi, or work off surplus energy playing table tennis, badminton and other games on the large recreational area, or in a more leisurely way playing boules.

There are tracks, trails and country lanes between the vines for walking and cycling, or you can relax over a glass of wine - or two!
- on your terrace or patio and enjoy the superb views over the vineyards across the beautiful green valley.


Bigno Garrigo is situated just off the N112 between Puisserguier and St. Chinian. A short drive takes you to the long sandy Mediterranean beaches, or up into the Montagne Noire - or to the local tennis courts, horseriding, canoeing in the gorges of the Orb, river fishing, a golf driving range and several excellent golf courses. There is also a good selection of excellent value local restaurants and regional wines to savour.

 

 

  
 

THE PROPERTIES
 There are 5 properties, all south facing with their own terrace or patio and all with their own barbecue, exterior lighting, garden tables and chairs and loungers. All properties have open plan kitchens, fully equipped for self-catering, and double or single sofa beds in the living area. Panoramic views of the valley covered in vineyards are enjoyed by all properties. Each one has its own individual character and all are decorated and furnished differently. Ample parking, with areas close to each property for loading/unloading.

Le Caprier - Suitable for 2-4 people.
 Ground floor level, with double bedroom and living room/kitchen, shower room, separate wc. The total area of 27 sq m is surprisingly spacious and very bright, with 25 sq m patio.

La Lavande - Suitable for 2-4 people.
"Top" floor with ground level entrance, huge terrace with superb views. Double bedroom, living room, open plan kitchen, shower room and separate wc. 35 sq m plus 60 sq m terrace.

La Sarriette - Suitable for 2-4 people.
Next to La Lavande and almost its mirror image, with similar accommodation, in 32 sq m of space. Even better views (if that's possible!) from its 60 sq m terrace.

La Passiflore - Suitable for 4-6 people.
Double bedroom and twin-bedded room, with room for an extra bed. Living room, open plan kitchen with full size cooker, and a large vine shaded terrace. In total 64 sq m. Very Mediterranean.

Le Romarin - Suitable for 4-6 people.
The largest at 80+ sq m and very individual. Usually described as "wow!". Open plan on three levels with galleries. Huge picture windows with lovely views of the valley; balcony terrace with table/chairs and garden terrace with loungers.

 

All our properties are designed for self-catering, but when you wish to put your feet up you can join in our weekly barbecue evening with fellow guests; there is also the option of our weekly Mediterranean dinner evening (depending on the season) and a pre-dinner wine tasting evening.

For a really relaxed arrival, order our starter pack of basic essentials to see you through until you feel fit for shopping, and/or our arrival meal which can be waiting for you in your property.

Shopping is convenient and easy, with local wines, charcoal, postcards and much more available in reception, whilst the nearest local shops and markets are just a few minutes' drive away.

Linen and towel hire are also available, with free laundry facilities and all the properties are fitted with insect screens.

THE REGION
 The region has an enormous amount to offer. Water sports on the coast, rivers and lakes, mountain biking in the hills. Swimming from gently sloping - and clean! - beaches, waterworld fun at Aqualand, Cap d'Agde, climbing in the Pyrénées. Imposing ancient Cathar castles. The peaceful Canal du Midi, Carcassonne with its medieval walled city. The tax-free zone of Andorra. Elegant shops, ancient villages, abbeys, underground caves, fishing ports, Roman remains, the list is endless.

Many of the historic towns and villages are well known: Pezenas, Agde, Perpignan, Montpellier . . . . and with Spain less than two hours away, you can also visit the Salvador Dali museum at Figueras.

The climate is one of the best in France, with an average of 2750 hours/300 days of sun each year and an average rainfall lower than that of Provence.

The summers are hot and sunny, the winters dry and mild, and it only rains at night - most of the time!
