Self catering accommodation
The recently renovated house now offers comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people (two doubles and one twin bedded) – each room has its own shower room and is centrally heated for the cooler months and with ceiling fans for when it’s warmer.
The kitchen and living area is spacious, with a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, large fridge and freezer for easy living.
The Pool
The swimming pool to quote one of our guests is “amazing!” - it’s sited in a huge, light and airy ‘sechoir’ – a traditional, louvre-sided, tobacco drying barn.
When outdoor pools have been too hot (37º) or too chilly (18º in August), ours was 25-26º because it’s covered and heated. Early morning swims? – no problem, even if the sun hasn’t got up yet! One family chose Les Rosiers because they wanted their children to swim as much as possible. It’ll be great in the Autumn!
Activities
Loads of other activities and sites are close by. You can fish (the Vezere’s a short stroll away), canoe, cycle, ride, mountain bike, quad bike, play mini-golf, walk or visit adventure parks and trails.
Numerous archaeological and historical sites are within easy reach and all ages are catered for, the hands-on Prehisto Parc or Roc de Cazelle are great for children. If you like markets, you’re spoilt for choice and could visit a different one every day! (for example Montignac, Sarlat, Terrasson, Les Eyzies, Le Bugue), How do you choose from the 1000+ chateaux that are in the area? – the nearest, Chateau de Losse, is just over the river.
There are wonderful gardens, museums, exhibitions - even a chocolaterie which offers workshops and free tastings! And, of course, you can just relax, enjoy the pool and Les Rosiers!
Archaeology Tours
Les Rosiers is owned by archaeologists, Steve & Judie Burman, and a FREE informal introductory talk over a glass of wine plus tickets to Lascaux II for up to 6 people is included! This is a great opportunity to find out more about the area you’re staying in to make the most of your time here.
