Two stone built cottages with splendid views over the Loire valley and only 150 metres from the river itself. In the year 2000 the Loire was the first river to be classified by UNESCO as a world heritage site.
Set around a courtyard at the edge of a conservation village at the centre of the Maine et Loire regional park.
The area is famous for its chateaux and there is much to do and see apart from sampling the local wines. The quiet winding roads are ideal for cycling and there are pleasant walks by the river and in the surrounding countryside. The nearest town is Gennes which has a selection of shops and is well served with leisure facilities ( including an outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts).
There is much of historical interest in the area including several chateaux, a roman amphitheatre, troglodyte dwellings and stone age remains (dolmens etc.,).
There is good shopping in the elegant towns of Saumur and Angers.
The cottages can be rented individually or as a pair.

Converted stone built barn set into the hillside providing rustic character accommodation .
The door from the covered terrace opens on to a tiled entrance hall leading to large single living room with exposed structural woodwork, dining area, kitchen with electric cooker microwave and fridge, lounge area with wood burning stove, television, occasional seating, bed settee and coffee table.
Stairs from entrance hall lead to lower floor with two bedrooms, one with twin beds, one with double bed and single bed.
Bathroom off hall with w/c, washstand, bath and shower.
On-site Facilities
There is a laundry room on site with a washing machine. There are six bicycles and a range of sports equipment. There are two barbecues and a selection of garden furniture. The garden is down to grass but includes a paved terrace with tables and a sunshade.

The nearest large town on the Loire (about 15 miles from Les Greniers).
Angers
The major town of the region and is near the confluence of the Maine and the Loire (about 20 miles from Les Greniers).

The weekly rate quoted above is based on Saturday to Saturday. We also offer you the flexibility to arrive any day and leave any day. You can price your holiday based on our quoted daily rate (minimum of 4 days stay) as follows.
* Low season (October-May) £30 per day, ie., £120 for 4 days or £210 for a whole week.
* Mid season (June & September) £45 per day, ie., £180 for 4 days or £315 for a whole week.
* High season (July & August) £60 per day, ie., £240 for 4 days or £420 for a whole week.
Although normally closed during November, December, January and February Cottage 1 could be made available by special arrangement.
Supplement for linen (where required) £12 per single bed and £15 per double bed.
Supplement for logs (where required) £10 per week. |
