Year round self-catering accommodation in a modern, fully-equipped apartment in a villa with private swimming pool in the Penedes Wine Region near Barcelona, north-east Spain.
Available only with at least one bird watching tour as part of Catalan Bird Tours bird watching holidays or birding short breaks. Birding locations include The Pyrenees, The Ebro Delta, The Steppes and Llobregat Delta.
Situated in the Penedés wine region and bordering the Garraf Natural Park, this recently renovated studio (on the ground-floor of a detached villa) is surrounded by wildlife such as golden orioles, bee-eaters and red squirrels.
It has its own swimming pool, Wi-Fi Internet connection and games room (with pool table & ping-pong!) and is only 8km from the beautiful beaches, restaurants and nightlife of Sitges.
From here it's just a short train ride to the vibrant city of Barcelona and the area is well-served by airports in Barcelona, Reus and Girona.
Accommodation
Fully equipped modern kitchen. Double-glazed windows with pull-down sun blinds and mosquito nets for extra comfort.
Bedrooms: 3 rooms sleeping up to 6 people 2 double-bed bedrooms, plus a studio sofabed
Bathroom: Please note that this is a few steps away from the main apartment
BREAKFAST. Supermarket stop-offs are scheduled in order to get supplies for you to prepare or cook your breakfast.
An excellent LUNCH is provided in the form of a varied picnic based on local Spanish and Catalan cuisine. Dietary requests are accepted.
EVENING MEAL. Depending upon the mood, we can dine at one of the many quality restaurants in the area, have an outdoor BBQ at the villa or relax and eat in. To allow those who wish to do so to visit Barcelona, etc. evening meals are not included. As a guideline you can budget up to €20 per night to dine out (excluding alcohol).
Birding Holidays
The Birdbox is a full week birding holiday or part week birding break visiting up to seven of the best bird watching sites in Catalonia, Spain.
You can book for a group of friends and family, share with an existing party or even make an exclusive reservation just for your self.
We set the pace according to you and cater for birders of ALL levels, designing a personalised holiday around your target species, if any.
Of course, with no accommodation changes and Sitges and Barcelona nearby, you may prefer to get more out of your birding holiday.
Family Holidays
A birding holiday or short break at any time of the year where you can bring non-birding friends and family with you!
You can spend as many days as you like bird watching whilst they entertain themselves by the swimming pool, in the games room, on the beach or shopping and sightseeing in Barcelona.
There's also a Universal family theme park nearby, tours of the local wine and cava vineyards and outdoor activities such as horse riding.
Of course, with the spectacle of the Pyrenees on offer, there's always a chance they'll want to join us at the last minute.
