Main house & 2 gites at La Sauvageonne, Saint Palais - Pool - Sleeps 2-4, 4-6 & 8-10
Our home is a beautifully restored "maison de maître" with three holiday suites, two self-catering cottages, and the main manor on 8 acres of wooded land. The entire property is surrounded by the vineyards of Côte de Blaye.
The house dates largely from the 18th century with the oldest part dating back to the 16th century. The house was once owned by one of the king's tax collectors. Our property is very secluded. This private location will ensure an exceptionally calm setting for your vacation or weekend getaway
La Sauvageonne is an ideal destination for wine lovers and walking enthusiasts alike and lies central to both beach and vineyards.
A half of an hour to the south, you can drive to many excellent vineyards near Blaye, Bourg, and further on to Saint Emillion. If you head north, you'll reach the beaches of Royan in under 45 minutes.
Closer to home, the Gironde estuary is seven kilometers away and is bordered by a large 35km x 7km acre marsh which serves as a natural reserve. The reserve has several narrow paved trails and makes for an ideal circuit for cyclists. Lastly, if you simply want to relax by the poolside, we'll be glad to serve lunch or snacks and provide beverages throughout the day.
Come and enjoy the French "gite", or holiday cottage. We have three solutions that will suit your style. The Sunflower Suite is ideal for 2 to 4 people. This spacious self-contained apartment is comprised of a 20 square-meter living room, fully equipped kitchen, full bath, 30 square-meter bedroom, and a private garden.
If you are traveling as a small group, you'll enjoy the Chai (wine shed or barn). It accommodates 4 to 6 people comfortably and is comprised of the following: two large bedrooms: 1 with queen-size bed, the other with a queen-size bed and a single; a loft with a day-bed; View of the chai from the front gardens.2 water closets; a beautifully tiled bath; well equipped kitchen, and large living room space.
If you are a large group of 8 to 10 people, you can rent the Main manor which has five bedrooms, two baths, a very large kitchen / dining room and plenty of living room space. Come as a group, but each can find his or her own space.
For any unit you select, you enjoy a terrace and barbecue that is all yours and also access the swimming pool shared by other guests.
You can spend your vacation as you like. Enjoy the freedom to make meals when you want, come and go at your leisure via a private entrance, and at the same time, benefit from the pool, bikes, and other amenities of our home.
A private garden with table, chairs, and barbecue let you take advantage of the warm summers and fresh air of the Gironde for outside dining.
Sorry, but no pets are allowed in the gites.
