Barn Conversion near Aubeterre, Charente, France

Situated approximately 1 hour drive from Geneva in a quiet setting, close to Ski Slopes (snow permitting it is possible to ski to & from the chalet). Opposite our other chalet which sleeps 6-8 in half or 16 in total.

Accommodation for 8-10
Sitting room with red wood burning stove, large picture windows (electric roller blinds) opening onto large covered Terrace. Furnished in reds and yellows. Underfloor heating & convectors. 3 sofas and 1 sofabed, dining table with 8-10 chairs.

Fully fitted kitchen, dishwasher, cooker & fridge all Bosch.

Entrance hall & cloakroom with WC, door into double garage & ski storage.

Upstairs 2 twin/double bedrooms with bathroom ensuite. The lower floor has 2 double/twin bedrooms, 1 bunk bedroom, 2 shower rooms one with W.C. and 1 separate W.C. laundry room with washing machine and dryer.

Cot and high chair available.

Beds have pillows & duvets or blankets if requested. Linen & towels can be arranged for a supplement of £15 per person per week.

Close to Ski Slopes (snow permitting it is possible to ski to & from the chalet). Chamonix & Mont Blanc, Megeve, La Clusaz, Annecy within 60 minutes drive. Evian & Lake Geneva approximately 30 minutes.

Extra Facilities
During the ski season EVENING MEALS can be delivered. Our neighbours Jean-Francois & Dominique who run the 'Le Cofi' restaurant in the village and offer a selection of menus for delivery to the chalet. (Must be booked at least 24hours in advance and each menu choice must be for a minimum of 4 people)

Extra activities
Apart from skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing and ice skating available in the winter there is a full range of summer activities. There is a lake, 2 minutes walk behind the chalet, for swimming which has a shallow beach area roped off for toddlers as well as a water slide. During the French school summer holidays there is a small charge by the day to cover the cost of the lifeguards.

There is an 18 hole golf course with wonderful views of Mont Blanc.

The "Poney" Club offering childrens rides is just behind the chalet plus an Adventure Park set in the trees behind the lake. There is downhill karting from the village centre lifts. Available nearby is mountain biking, horse riding, white water rafting and paragliding for the more adventurous.

Les Gets
The traditional alpine village of Les Gets has a good selection of restaurants, bars and shops and is just a 10 minute walk downhill from the chalet.

Skiing Information
Ski In & Out (snow permitting, snow canons on some routes back to the chalet) it is an easy run from the chalet down to the main telecabin and lift in the centre of Les Gets and it is possible to ski back from the Chavannes pistes by the lake or from the Yeti/Ranfolly runs. There is also a free navette bus to the other lifts in Les Gets.

The Ski Hire shop passed on the way up to the chalet offers a discount on hire to our clients. The Portes du Soleil ski area is the largest skiing area in France and it is also possible to ski on into Switzerland.

There are French and an English ski school in Les Gets. The French ski school will take children for the day and for an extra charge can provide lunch and indoor afternoon activities for children too young to ski all day. There is also an excellent creche for younger children and babies.
