The Gîte Lavande is located in a friendly village with a shop, bar, post office and church.The gîte is attached to the owners’ property but has its own separate access and private terrace.
It has been recently renovated to a high standard whilst maintaining many attractive features with exposed beams and stonework and a spiral staircase.
The Gîte
An attractive stone cottage with generous accommodation for two people. The Gîte Lavande is located in a friendly village with a shop, bar, post office and church.The gîte is attached to the owners’ property but has its own separate access and private terrace.
It has been recently renovated to a high standard whilst maintaining many attractive features with exposed beams and stonework and a spiral staircase.
The sitting area is very comfortable, for your entertainment there are a selection of books and a DVD player with films.and satalite TV.The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with an oven, hob, microwave and fridge and all the utensils you should need on your stay. Table and chairs for dining both inside and outside are provided. For winter months there is full central heating and woodburner.
We are very flexible with bookings and we understand that everyone cannot travel on Saturdays and we do our best to accomodate our clients.
We are open all year round.
The bedroom is on the lower level with a double bed. Along a short corridor is the modern bathroom with shower and bath.
The gîte garden is partitioned off from the owners terrace and is very private. Sun-lounges, table and chairs and a BBQ are all available.
Things to do and see
Gîte Lavande is just 8km from the charming medieval town of Domfront, explore the castle ruins and Norman church, the cobbled streets and its weekly market. The music festivals and very popular medieval festival make this a very lively historic town.
Lassay-Les-Chateaux a medieval town with a large Norman chateau and plenty of shops and restaurants.
Flers is just 15km away, a more modern town with several large supermarkets but again with a chateau to visit. There is also a large swimming complex with flumes and rapids!
For World War II enthusiasts, from Flers the contre-Attaque route follows sites of historical interest in the battle for Normandy.
Mont St Michel with its world famous Abbey and winding streets full of shops, museums and restaurants is only 1.5 hours away and a must see!
Gîte Lavande is located near to the Normandy-Maine regional natural park. The area provides lots of walking opportunities. Nearby is the Fosse Arthour where you can follow the ‘route of King Arthur’ and either ride ponies, rock climb, take refreshment, or pick up the GR ‘chemin de Mont St. Michel’ and walk to your heart’s delight! To the east of Domfront is the large Forêt des Andaines, with abundant wildlife and opportunities for mountain biking or walking.
Bagnoles de l’orne this interesting spa town has everything from a casino and boutiques to an ornamental lake.
Prices
Gîte Lavande is available from March to October. Saturday to Saturday (other durations of stay are available, please ask) at £220 per week
(£100 deposit and balance payable six weeks before your stay.)
A welcome pack and all bed linen and towels are provided to our guests. Sorry we do not accept pets.
