Lakeview Rise is a select development of privately owned cottages within 3.5 acres of characteristic Devonshire countryside. The cottages are situated on a south facing slope that meanders gently down to its residents’ private coarse fishing lake.
Complete with indoor pool, sauna and spectacular views from dawn to dusk... it’s little surprise that Lakeview Rise has been, and will continue to be, a much sought after holiday retreat for all the family.
Jake’s Retreat has been beautifully refurbished and is fully equipped to provide for all levels of self-catering cuisine - whether it’s a hearty breakfast before a day on the moors, a barbecue, or a traditional Sunday roast, everything is there for your use.

Jake's Retreat offers two-bedroom accommodation (one double and one twin-bedded room) together with stylish, comfortable living room and fully-equipped kitchen.
Holiday residents have full and free access to the private indoor heated pool & sauna. Other amenities include a communal lakeside barbecue and childrens play area. For residents’ convenience, Lakeview Rise also benefits a laundry room and payphone facility.
Perhaps most significantly, Lakeview Rise is renowned for its coarse fishing lake. Again, with free use for all residents, it is well stocked with carp (record catch 20lb) tench and rudd. For the more serious fishing enthusiasts, there are numerous other lakes, rivers and reservoirs within the area.

One of the few remaining expanses of southern England that is naturally wild, remote and dramatically rugged, Dartmoor National Park is within 30 minutes drive approx - and offers some of the most forbidding scenery, with ponies & sheep roaming in all weathers.
Hatherleigh (10 mins) is a charming market town steeped in history, with numerous ancient inns, shops and attractions. A must on market day!
Belstone (25 mins) - this tiny picturesque village with its common and abundance of ponies provides the nearest paths on to Dartmoor from Jake’s Retreat - see map page.
Meldon Reservoir (25 mins) - easily accessible paths lead from the reservoir car park providing splendid walks amid a backdrop of truly breathtaking scenery.

Prices stated are based on a weekly rate (Sat-Sat). Shorter stays can be divided into a daily rate and multiples thereof (minimum single night - two day rental period).
Please note: Stays of less than 7 nights are subject to a surcharge of £30 for cleaning services in school holidays and peak season (May - September).
Minimum of 7 night bookings from 21 July to 1 September accepted.
