Maison de la Botte is a very classically elegant 19th century period property (Maison de Maitre), tastefully restored and decorated with an indoor pool 8x4 metre long, which is available all year long, even at Christmas and is completely secure and safe especially for young children, as the entire house and Mediterranean courtyard garden is bordered by its own walls, gates and outbuildings hence enjoying great privacy.
Maison de la Botte is in the village of Olonzac, a wine producing village in the heart of Languedoc.
With a large living area and kitchen and a separate drawing room, the house is designed to easily accommodate 6-8 adults in comfort with four bedrooms and 3 luxury bathrooms. The house is furnished and decorated to a very high standard with many original fireplaces and wood paneling
On the ground floor there is a large open plan kitchen/living/dining room (40ft x 35ft) filled with period furniture painted in soft whites. Equipped with dish washer, washing machine, period stone sink, fridge freezer, microwave and there is also a fireplace in this room.
The kitchen is ideal for enthusiastic chefs (Cooking Schools) with a very large Lacanche cooker and extensive top of the range cooking equipment. French doors lead out from here to the stunning garden.
There is a separate drawing room with two very large comfortable sofas, two 'Louis' square back carver chairs and a working fireplace, making the property perfect for winter breaks.
The house is equipped with broad band internet wireless connection and satellite television. There is one TV on the ground floor with satellite channels, DVD and CD player and satellite TV in the main bedroom.

EXTERIOR:
Lovely spacious private Mediterranean courtyard garden with mature plants, flowers and trees (fully lit at night). Shaded dinning terrace with table and chairs under two Plaine trees, steps down to a large barbecue area.
Large glass fronted barn opens from the garden and houses the 8x4 metre indoor pool (sliding doors can be fully shut, hence safe for young children) on top of the barn and pool is a superb roof terrace with further plants, table and chairs and great views towards the village church and beyond (young children should be supervised here).

Just steps outside the house gates is the traditional village of Olonzac, where you'll find a beautiful park with 3 professional tennis courts, several Cafe/Bar/Restaurants to choose from. Shops including Grocery stores, excellent supermarket on the edge of the village.
Lac de Jouarres is only 2 minutes away for swimming, boating, fishing and windsurfing and the Canal du Midi is also 2 minutes away. During the summer season the lake has life guards and there is a restaurant/snack bar with sun loungers for use in their garden. You can walk the perimeters of the lake in just an hour. The swimming area has been prepared using peebles and geotexiles to prevent weed growth and the sailing/fishing areas are away from the bathing area.
The Canal du Midi runs just past Olonzac and there are lots of places to hire a boat alternatively, just stroll along the shaded tree-lined, tow path and stop at any one of the may water-side restaurants for lunch
The village of Minerve is only 15 minutes away, Minerve, a miraculous village perched over the meeting of rivers. Perched where rivers tunnel through steep gorges, there are wonderful walks that test the soul and one's agility. The river Cessiere tunnels under the hill next to the village and one can - if the water's not high, walk through, to yet provide the idea background to grand spectacles of Son et Lumiere in the summer months
Gruissan, Narbonne Plage and neighbouring resort of St. Piere sur Mer are only 30 minutes to 40 minutes away. Each beach along the coast has a different flavour to it, child friendly and many area are quite uncrowded
Nearby (30 minutes) Carcassone, the most medieval skyline anywhere is a must!
TO VISIT
CORBIERES, where interesting and serious winemakers are now well established and you stop at villages like Lagrasse, a really gorgeous village in the fold of a hill, unspoilt, medieval and facing a Benedictine monastery across a river.
