| Thiaumerie is a traditional Normandy stone-built farmhouse, standing in half an acre of its own grounds, overlooking the pretty hamlet of St Louet sur Vire.
We have 3 double en-suite bedrooms, one of which also has an adjoining twin room, perfect as a family suite. We are midway between the D-Day beaches, Bayeux and Mont St Michel so ideal as a base for visiting three of the major attractions of Normandy. You can also return at the end of the day to a welcoming evening drink and meal in our newly renovated dining room.
Michael and Sally Byrne will give you a warm welcome to La Thiaumerie, their Chambres d'hotes (B&B), located on a hillside overlooking the hamlet of St Louet sur Vire.
The house was built in 1734 and was originally a small house nestled between two barns but over the last 8 years Michael has sympathetically renovated the house so that it now has 3 double ensuite bedrooms, one of which has a beamed attic room attached making it an ideal family suite for 2 adults and up to 3 children.
There is a guest lounge with music, books and games and a light airy dining room where breakfast is served and evening meals by prior arrangement.
Outside there is on-site parking, a garden, a sun terrace and during the summer months, outdoor table tennis.
The area
La Thiaumerie is just 3km from the village of a Domjean, a "4 flower" village fleuri (one of the highest awards in France for well-maintained villages). There is a good retaurant in the village as well as several others within a ten mile radius.
Saint-Lo is 15km away and has an excellent Saturday morning market and there are good road links to Bayeux, Mont St Michel, the D-Day beaches and several other pretty and interesting towns in the region, making this an ideal location for a sightseeing visit to Normandy without the hassle of moving from lodging to lodging each day. |
