A rural farmhouse belonging to Philippe and Emma Roy, owners of the Clos de Roy restaurant, Bath.
This typical Poitou farmhouse belonged to Philippe's grand-father, and is where (as a child) he enjoyed all his summer holidays. Set in 45 acres of it's own farm land, together with pond and wild life, the gite enjoys a very peaceful and tranquil setting.
Property:A typical 1905 Poitou farmhouse, with stables, a large barn together with barn owl, a pond stocked with fish and plenty of frogs and a large garden.
Features: Spacious, comfortable, tastefully decorated and well fitted. The house overlooks the front lawn and the pond (fenced for security). There is a barbecue, swing, ping pong and outdoor games. The interior combines modern furnishing (including a well fitted kitchen) with the appeal of traditional rustic character including oak beamed ceilings and fire place.
Accommodation: The 220m2 gite offers spacious accommodation with five bedrooms, two bathrooms, two WCs, a large sitting room, a large well equipped kitchen and a veranda.
First Floor: Two double bedded rooms (extra single in each), 2 twin rooms, 1 double room with bunk beds (all with fitted carpet and antique furniture). Separate wc and bathroom with shower.
Ground Floor:Kitchen with large dinning table and a fully fitted kitchen (dishwasher, gas/electric cooker, washing machine, two fridge, freezer, toaster, coffee machine, crockery and cutlery for 15 persons. Separate WC and bathroom. Spacious living room with three large sofas (2 sofa beds), armchair, tables, colour TV, hi-fi system, an open fire place. Veranda with large garden table and chair and a barbecue.
General: Gas central heating also producing hot water combination boiler. Telephone: France Telecom card.
The gite is managed by Philippe's parents living 10 minutes away. They are always available for any problems.
