The Orangerie is a beautifully kept estate in the middle of the lovely countryside of the Pays d'Auge.
The grounds are composed of a splendid garden with extensive lawns and a private forest, and the house itself is an elegant building of the 18th. century.
The atmosphere here is of happy memories and serene calm, where you can enjoy a really restful holiday.
The hamlet consists of a couple of old houses here and there, and the church which is no longer in use. The château has been destroyed, but the estate still keeps a certain aristocratic air.
The Orangerie was built to house the orange trees in the winter and has been transformed in the early 19th century. The owners have preserved all the original elements of past days, and the antique furniture rooms are cosy, with all the necessary elements for your comfort.
THE ROOMS
We offer three double rooms, and one room with three beds, ideal for children.
The Blue room

The ancient pavement gives all its charm to this lovely room with a big double bed and an ensuite shower and toilet. The windows are festooned with the branches of a generous grapewine which provides excellent grapes in the autumn, that you can just pick from your bedroom!
The Pink room

This room is furnished with French antique furniture and offers a big double bed too. The comfortable ensuite bathroom (with toilet and bathtub) is impressively big.
The Vegetable Garden Room

Children’s room
50 to 60 euros - 50 euros low season
Overlooking the former vegetable garden, it is a little smaller than the other two, and also has a double bed. The bathroom is just next door, and also serves for the children’s room that has three single beds.
These two rooms are slightly apart from the others, and thus are ideal for a family, but can be separately let.
Breakfasts
We either serve them in the decorated kitchen or in the garden in front of the house, where you can bask in the early morning sun.
Marie-Christine serves you tea, coffee, hot chocolate, according to your wishes, milk and fruit juices, with excellent crispy croissants, jam and local butter. She will have a drink with you, and tell you all about the little nooks and crannies you shouldn't miss in this region which is so rich in hidden treasures. Or she will be pleased to give you all the necessary information you may request.
For stays longer than 3 days, and for families with small children, you can freely use the kitchen and the equipment you need to do your own meals.
Dogs are more than welcome.
