Located at the Southernmost tip of Devon, Salcombe benefits from a sheltered position on a tidal estuary and enjoys a favourable climate for much of the year.
It has several fine sandy beaches providing safe swimming, windsurfing and boating.
In addition there is fishing, golf (available nearby at Thurlestone and Dartmouth), tennis, horse riding, rambling and walking, or simply relaxing and enjoying the view!
Salcombe is one of the best yachting and boating centres in the West of England. Its beautiful estuary not only provides protected moorings and anchorages but also ideal dinghy sailing conditions.
The town itself has a good selection of shops, banks, restaurants and boatyards catering for the needs of residents and visitors alike. In the summer months Salcombe is the venue for a variety of sailing regattas including the annual regatta with yacht races, processions, firework displays and fun events for all the family.
FOLLY END occupies a premier seafront site in the centre of Salcombe which affords direct access to the sea and glorious views.
All rooms in Folly End with the exception of the bathroom, cloakroom and bunk bedded room have wonderful uninterrupted views of the Salcombe Estuary.
Despite its central position it enjoys an unusual degree of privacy, having a patio and balcony facing the sea and an enclosed courtyard to the rear of the house.
FOLLY END sleeps eight people plus with ease, having one double bedroom with double bed, one very large room with two single beds plus a sofabed and one bedroom with bunkbeds. The double bedroom and single bedroom both have washbasins and there is a bathroom upstairs and a shower-room and cloakroom downstairs.
In addition to the above accommodation there is a newly refurbished, fully equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer, and a very large sitting-cum-dining room with TV and video.
There is a washing machine in the cloakroom.
All bed linen is provided (except for the bed settee), as are bath mats, kitchen and cloakroom towels. Guests, therefore, need only bring their own bath towels, hand towels, beach towels and tea towels.
There is no parking available at the house.
